Level 2: Prompting and Directing AI

The difference one sentence makes
First attempt: 'Make me a contact form.' Result: A basic form that doesn't match your site and sends data nowhere. Second attempt: 'Add a contact form to my existing page that matches the current dark theme, validates email format before submitting, and shows a success message after submission. Don't set up a backend yet—just log the data to the console so I can see it works.' Result: Exactly what you needed.
Level 3: Reading Code Without Writing It
"You don't need to write code. You need to judge it."

You didn't debug. You directed.
Level 4: Minimal Edits, Maximum Impact
"Small, targeted changes are safer than big rewrites."

The five-second fix
Your site says 'Welcome to Acme Corp' but your company is called 'Acme Co.' You could ask AI to change it. Or you could open the file, find that text, change 'Corp' to 'Co.', and save. Done. You didn't need to understand the code around it. You found words, changed words. That's a safe edit.
Level 5: Thinking in Products
"Features don't matter. Problems solved for real people matter."

The complex version would have taken a week and confused everyone.
Level 6: Systemizing Your Workflow
"Repeatable processes beat random bursts of productivity."

Who This Roadmap is NOT For
This isn't the right path for everyone. Be honest with yourself.
- You want to become a professional software engineer and get hired at a tech company. Traditional CS education or bootcamps are better for that.
- You need to build systems that handle millions of users or sensitive financial data. That requires deeper engineering knowledge.
- You want to understand how computers work at a fundamental level. This roadmap skips that entirely.
- You think AI will do everything perfectly without your input. Vibe coding still requires thinking, judgment, and iteration.
- You're not willing to ship imperfect things and improve them later. This approach values progress over perfection.
